Accessible healthcare refers to healthcare that is fair and accessible for everyone. It involves approachability, confident rapport with healthcare providers, affordable healthcare, and engaging with healthcare.
In other words, accessible healthcare is affordable and available to all individuals regardless of their location, socioeconomic status, or other factors that may limit their access to healthcare.
It’s important to note that providing healthcare in remote areas requires a different approach than in urban areas. In remote areas, healthcare providers may face challenges such as lack of infrastructure, limited resources, and difficulty in transportation. However, with proper training and resources, healthcare providers can overcome these challenges and provide quality care to those in need.
We adopted a practical and time-tested method for accessible healthcare in remote villages. A new presence in caring is introduced and instituted by a doctor capable of living their life by associating with their culture, and living their happiness and sorrow opens the door to accessible healthcare. Selecting a few volunteers from the village and train them to survey and screen the people door-to-door to elicit various health signs of diseases. It gives scope for employment and education. Awareness of common ailments, women and childcare, and daycare for young children become accessible. We were charitable in all our initiatives and educated people in understanding the charitable intention.
In conclusion, while there are challenges to providing holistic healthcare in remote areas, it is possible with the right approach and resources.
